MozyPro is the business backup counter-part to Mozy's home consumer online backup product. With a centralized Administrative Console and support for servers and external drives, it's the top choice for many businesses for their online backups.
To get started with MozyPro, you need to purchase at least 1 license, and 1 GB of storage. Licenses are $3.95 / month / desktop, and $6.95 / month / server. Each GB of storage costs $0.50 / month. If you choose to be billed annually, you'll get 1 month free, and if you choose to be billed biennially, you'll receive 3 months free.
When signing up, you can also use a MozyPro Promotional Code and save 15%. This is the only time you can apply the promotional code to your account, so to maximize your savings, try to estimate your future needs now.
Once you're signed up, you can begin pushing the backup app to your users. As you add users, you specify if they're granted a desktop or server license, and how many GB of data they can backup. Users will receive an email, letting them know how to download the client application and what their license key is.
Welcome to MozyPro! Your administrator, Eric (info@onlinebackupsreview.com), has sent you an activation key so that you can download MozyPro and start using it immediately.
Download the MozyPro installer from http://www.mozypro.com/downloads/.... for Windows and http://www.mozypro.com/downloads/... for Mac.
When prompted for your key enter:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Users must install the client application themselves, and select which files to backup. For some users, and some organizations, this will be fine. But for others, the IT staff should handle the installation & choosing what files to backup to MozyPro. If this is the case, the MozyPro Admin can always see each user's license key from the dashboard.
BackupBackups of MozyPro on the client end work just like the home (consumer) product. Backups can be scheduled, or occur automatically. Backups occur in the background, while users are working, without slowing them down.
Your data is secure with MozyPro, too. All data is encrypted locally via 448-bit Blowfish encryption before being sent over a 128-bit SSL connection to Mozy's data center.
Windows users can backup to a local USB drive as well. This enables faster restores and an added layer of protection for your files.
When a user needs to restore a file, they can do so a number of different ways:
The version of the file to be restored can be chosen, going back 30 days.
Remote AccessAside being able to access your data from Mozy's website, you can also use Mozy's iPhone / iPod app or the MozyPro app for Android to access your files when you're on the go.
The MozyPro dashboard gives the administrator the ability to see which computers are successfully backing up, how much space they're using, and when they last backed up.
Clicking on a Machine (computer) name will reveal the Owner, Space (GB) Used, Last Backup, Encryption, Client Version, and License Key.

From here, you can also restore files from the backup set. If a computer crashes (or bursts into flames, or drinks coffee) and the data cannot be accessed, you can retrieve a copy for the user. The restore process works just like MozyHome restores, where you can browse the directories or search for a file.
Also from the Administrative Console, the admin can create and deploy the client configuration rules. All preferences from the Mozy client can be set to a default value, and even locked from the user changing them, if so desired.
Mozy is a leader in consumer online backup, and their business backup is a leader as well. MozyPro supports backing up SQL server, Exchange server, external drives and NAS. Currently, sharing files amongst colleagues and syncing between computers is not supported.
