Zoogmo, a peer-to-peer backup service operational since mid-2006 announced today they are shutting down.

Zoogmo Management thanks all of our users for your loyal support since we launched our backup service in August 2006. We have enjoyed serving you but the time has come for us to close our doors. We plan to shut down our servers on 31st December 2009 at which point your backed-up data will no longer be available.

Zoogmo once bragged they were a “cool new backup program that offers FREE, UNLIMITED backup.” Well, free doesn’t pay the bills.

Zoogmo now recommends Mozy to their current backup customers.
