Mozy in the UK & Ireland

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Map of Ireland & the United KingdomIn case you missed the news last week, Mozy has officially opened up service to the UK and Ireland.

As an Internet-based company, this announcement may seem surprising. After all, users in the UK and Ireland could previously backup their data with Mozy. However, with closer data centers now available, users in the UK and Ireland can expect to see faster upload speeds.

In addition, users are now able to pay in their local currency. While £4.99 per month for unlimited backup is still a bargain, it’s still a 52% premium over $4.99 USD users were paying before. That additional cost gives users faster access to their data (thanks to physically closer data centers) and better security, thanks to stricter UK data security standards.

Users can signup for Mozy in the UK at mozy.co.uk or in Ireland at mozy.ie.
