This may be boring to some of you, but Mozy was recently awarded Mozy.nl from BackUpsOnline.nl. Currently, the domain is still pointing to BackUpsOnline.nl, but we expect that to change in the next couple of days.
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) arbitrated this transfer of ownership after Decho filed a complaint against BackUpsOnline.
BackUpsOnline.nl admitted to using Mozy.nl to generate leads for their own online backup service, which (of course) Mozy didn’t like. Mozy also didn’t like BackUpsOnline.nl’s asking price of $25,000, so Decho looked to WIPO for assistance.
BackUpsOnline.nl also owns Mozy.fr, which they’re sure to also lose to Decho.
